how come when i exclude ren´py rpgm and visual novel, i get games that are still just that? It literally says in the games engine its ren´py for example yet it still goes through the exclude filter? Pls fix it i hate visual novel, they are not games, they are mostly bad written books

The exclude filter is only available for tags.
Not all Ren’Py games have Ren’py tags. “Engine” is a different parameter and unrelated to tags. We do not have an engine-excluding system. You can make different searches by selecting different systems. That will exclude all other tags except the one you’ve chosen.

Why not give any game a tag of its engine automatically?

Because this website sucks ass at tagging, that’s why, but this is a good suggestion regardless. 
And about your opinion of visual novels, their nature as games or not is debatable, I’m not certain myself, however about your claim that all of them are badly written books is wrong because they are not all equally written and there are bad and good ones like in everything, would you dare to claim that you prefer actual games over visual novels because all games are well made or that all books are greatly written? 
I actually understand you because I couldn’t stand visual novels when I first discovered them until I played one visual novel that I enjoyed and then I wanted more and I eventually grew into a visual novels addict as much as I was already a games addict, you just have to play one visual novel which will change your mind about them.
Here, just give a chance to the ones that I recommended in this other topic then let me know your impressions of them.
