Happy New Year To All!!!
You are basically asking which on-going games are we hoping for being continued this year?
- Adventurer Trainer (adult version of Konosuba)
- Devilâs Academy (adult version of High School DxD)
- City of Broken Dreamers (I was really into it but I am disappointed that the author imposes monogamy in the end)
- Tales From The Unending Void (to be honest, I am into it more for the story than for the porn )
- To Be A King (gripping but scarcely updated )
- Desert Stalker
- Chasing Sunset
- Girls Next Door (promising but not updated for more than one year!)
- Between Two Worlds
- Long Story Short
- Intertwined (out of curiosity because Iâm already sick of the lame plot and imposed monogamy)
That was only this year?
Damn, I feel as if this was at least last year ago.
Anyway, since I was notified to come back here because a new message was added, which I flagged as spam by the way since it is basically an ad for an Android app irrelevant to this forum, I took this opportunity to be back here to review my last message and this is why I have trouble to believe that this was only this year because so much has already changed since then!
I didnât play the last big update to Adventurer Trainer yet because I have been too busy therefore I will talk about it after I will play it.
Devilâs Academy takes forever to continue and the content added at each update is not adequate to the waiting time between them however it progresses better and better!
City of Broken Dreamers has finally be completed and just like Phillyâs previous game Depraved Awakening, the conclusion was not worthy of the gripping story, it felt rushed again and he allowed us to grow intimate with every woman in the story only to take away all but one in the end because he starts his games as polyamourous only to conclude them into monogamy, it was not long ago that you and me talked about those hypocritical games, didnât we?
Anyway, this was the second time that Philly disappointed me in the end so I will avoid his games from now on, he is not worthy to my standards.
Tales From The Unending Void takes forever to continue and each update adds too little content for such long waiting times however I just checked if it was updated since last time I checked and it was updated last month at last but not here as usual because here always takes months of delay to update anything so I am downloading it from elsewhere as I speak here and I will talk about it after I will play it as well.
To Be A King got one update in February then nothing new since then, it is still scarcely updated and it might even have been abandoned since it was not updated for so long, I really HATE having to wait FOREVER to continue what I start, which is why I stopped playing anything in progress and now I play only already completed games to spare me the frustration to have to wait for them to be continued.
Moreover, this game infuriates me to no end because it is obvious that Felix is a traitor and yet it allows you no option to confront him, it imposes you to pretend that you are oblivious to everything going on around you or more accurately, it imposes you to play a dumbass character who I lost count of how many times I already cursed because he never ever notices anything wrong going around him and is blissfully ignorant to all the conspiracies plotting against him, if he was not my character, I would WISH for such an idiot to be backstabbed and I would ENJOY this well-deserved fate, but alas, he is my character, so I have to bite my hand and contain my frustration to witness his stupidity while I am supposed to be him.
Moreover, every young woman is all over him and claims that he is âhandsomeâ but every time I see his face, I want to puke because of how OLD AND UGLY he looks, which really has been posing me a hard challenge to immerse myself into this story and enjoy being this lame character both for his appalling looks and for his utter stupidity, I hate being him and I curse the author for this even if I want to continue playing this story because even though the protagonist is unlikeable, at least the story is intriguing.
Desert Stalker is so far one of my favorite on-going games because it is updated relatively often, at least much faster than all of the other âwait forever for each updateâ games around, the story is gripping, the post-apocalyptic world is gripping, the many different characters and relationships are gripping, your mercenary character free to work with every faction you want is gripping, everything is gripping in this game, this is promising to be a master-piece if Zetan keeps going as he has been doing so far!
Since I am your best friend in the world, I can only recommend you to play Desert Stalker if you still didnât.
Chasing Sunsets has finally been completed and I am sorry to say that just as most stories which take forever to be completed, its conclusion was rushed and heart-crushingly disappointing after all the hype it inspired.
And just like so many other hypocritical creators, Stone Fox Studios attempted to make this story a polyamourous story all along only to impose monogamy in the end however a rebel modder created a harem mod to modify the game to allow polyamour in the end, thus salvaging it from the authorâs hypocrisy.
Still, the intrigue went so deep only to conclude into a rush in the end which leaves many unanswered questions because the authors grew fed up of their own story and wanted to be done with it as fast as possible like so many other creators who take forever to complete their stories until they grow fed up of them going-on forever and rush them to be done with them at last.
They promised one more update in the future but it will only be to conclude the relationships developed during the story, the intrigue is already done, alas.
I am waiting for the last relationships update (and its harem mod of course ) before I make my final opinion on Chasing Sunsets but after its lame rushed conclusion to its deep intrigue, I am not holding my breath with hope.
Girls Next Door was one of my favorite until it was officially abandoned so I deleted and forgot it.
I eventually abandoned Between Two Worlds because I disliked its full of himself and too cheesy with his girlfriend protagonist from the start but I persisted in continuing for the story anyway until I couldnât take anymore of his total lack of humility and disgustingly too sweet talking to his girlfriend and I lost interest for the story so I quit.
Moreover, this game flirts with lolicon and contains little girls with adult faces, that always weird me out!
Itâs a shame because the idea of a group of role-players friends being transported into their game world for real with the same skills as their gameâs characters is a promising potential if done adequately but here it is not unfortunately because everything was made too convenient for the protagonist and the whole story feels like a lame ego-flattering journey.
The first time I played Long Story Short, I focused more on Ann than on Vanessa even though I did cheat on Ann with Vanessa and at first, I disliked Vanessa because she was too easy, she was not a challenge to get into her pants which removes the fun of it, until she and I grew closer and then she became really interesting because then I learned that there is more to it than just sleeping around with everyone to the point that I grew to prefer fun free-minded Vanessa over boring conformist Ann, usually I dislike cheating because it is betrayal of trust, I prefer being honestly open with my relationships, however Vanessa made me enjoy cheating on my girlfriend and my best friend with his girlfriend because it made us grow closer as we were accomplices in the crime and the cheating couple that we have grown to be is really fun, we even team up to have our way with other couples and make them cheat on each other with us, she seduces the man while I seduce the woman and we have our way with both of them separately while they are oblivious that the other cheated on them as well at the same time, thatâs a riot!
I grew to genuinely love Vanessa because of how much fun our relationship is so when this game was last updated 6 months ago, I restarted it and I focused on Vanessa from the start this time and holy curse I had missed out so much more fun with her when I focused on Ann the first time, this game is really the most fun when you choose Vanessa over Ann from the start because Vanessa is so much more fun than Ann and the closer you grow together, the more she involves you into her wild fun and thatâs always a riot to the point that I wish she was real!
I genuinely canât wait for next update to discover what other wild fun Vanessa will make me experienceâŠ
Intertwined was updated 6 months ago and its oblivious protagonist has FINALLY figured out that Navarro is his father (while I figured it out from the first time I met him) however he STILL has not figured out that John is Erynnâs father even though it is SO OBVIOUS that he genuinely PISSES ME OFF even more than To Be A Kingâs oblivious protagonist!
Intertwined is actually one of these lame spanish TV drama sitcoms where everything is too obvious and yet its characters take forever to connect the dots because they are all more stupid than each other and this lame concept was here made into a visual novel whose whole lame because obvious intrigue requires all of its characters to be more stupid than each other to never ever connect any dots and not figure out the intrigue from the start so the âintrigueâ has been going on for years while everything was frustratingly obvious and we have had to witness all of its charactersâ blissful ignorance of every clue while biting our hands to not scream in frustration to the point of popping a vein, thatâs the kind of story this is.
Now that the obvious fatherâs revelation has been made at last, I expect it to stop beating around the bush forever and finally move forward for real so I am waiting for next update if only to check if the story actually progresses now or still not but I will still dislike it anyway because of its forced monogamy anyway.
If I had knew beforehand that this is a spanish TV drama sitcom made into a visual novel, I would have expected its lameness and avoided it from the start but since I didnât know it beforehand and I figured it out only after I started it, this is too late because I need to finish what I already started so I will finish it even though I expect it to keep being lame to the end, I already figured out the âintrigueâ forever ago yet I am still curious as to how the oblivious characters will react once THEY figure it out.
Itâs like Where The Heart Is, another lame âintrigueâ that I figured out Bella is âDitzyâ from the start because of how suspicious her behavior was from the start and this âintrigueâ has been going on and beating around the bush forever, never ever actually progressing because too busy feeding the protagonistâs ego and sexual drive than to actually progress the story, until I eventually grew fed up of stagnating and I quit only for years later reading in the game pageâs comments here that âSo Bella was the bad guy?!â and I was like âAs expected. So predictable.â, sigh, Iâm fed up of uninspired unoriginal and predictable plots, there are too many of them around hiding the actually inspired storiesâŠ
I want to add one more to my previous list that I had forgotten because I had played and dismissed it at first but since the first season was completed this year, I replayed it to discover its new content and it ended on a cliffhanger so now I am eagerly waiting for the second season to start if only to discover how it continues from there.
The game that I am talking about is The DeLuca Family, a game which really inspires me mixed feelings between love and hate because I love some things while I hate some other things in it.
I want to continue it for its intrigue even though, as so many other intrigues, this one requires its characters to be idiots who never connect the dots and donât solve mysteries too fast, why can no creator actually think of a mystery which is not too obvious to solve instead of creating predictable intrigues which rely only on their charactersâ utter stupidity to keep the âsuspenseâ going on, I AM SO FED UP OF THIS!
I mean this is SO OBVIOUS that the protagonistâs father is Cordiaâs ex-fiance and that both him and the protagonistâs mother were exiled from the DeLuca Family because he cheated on Cordia with her best friend, just like it is SO DAMN OBVIOUS that Serpent is actually Dante, but the most infuriating because most obvious point is that the protagonist STILL believes that his mother actually wanted to kill him when he was a child even though after he survived his poisoning at his first DeLuca Family dinner, Gracie BLATANTLY SHOVED INTO HIS FACE that he survived because his body was trained to resist poison AND THEN HE STILL DIDNâT CONNECT THE DOTS that his mother lightly poisoned him during his childhood in order to train his resistance to poison because SHE ACTUALLY WANTED TO PROTECT HIM and he is supposed to be âincredibly cunningâ, ah, what a bad joke!
Indeed, this game tries too hard to present its protagonist as a god among mortals who only pretends to be weak in order to purposefully be underestimated by everyone and conceal his actual abilities and only the few smartest people figured this out and claim that he is âincredibly cunningâ so every time he does NOT connect obvious dots, this âincredibly cunningâ character infuriates me to no end, I genuinely hate him because the whole game was obviously designed to emphasize his superiority, especially his incredible intelligence, however its creator is actually not smart enough to impress me with any superior intelligence and therefore all that he actually does is to annoy me with his lame delusions of superiority while his plots are so predictable that I figure them out too fast then I have to wait for the so-called genius protagonist to FINALLY figure them out as well an eternity after me.
Actually, HopesGaming suffers from such an inferiority complex that he canât even take any criticism to the point that he literally inserted an incredibly pathetic and useless 4th wall breaking scene into his very game for the sole purpose of degrading someone who criticized him and he made it in such a pathetic way that he actually degraded himself and I have been tempted to answer to his challenge to criticize him and to leave him such a merciless, devastating and apocalyptic review of everything lame in his game, and there are A LOT, so to completely annihilate his unwarranted pride in a way that he couldnât possibly strike back, I would thoroughly demonstrate that he is actually insecure and suffers from an inferiority complex which makes him unable to cope with criticism and react with great hostility, I would be merciless because he basically declared war to criticism implying that he basically forbid people to express any negative opinion of his game, which I take as a challenge to dare to criticize him and I love challenges, moreover he has been annoying me with his delusions of superior intelligence trying too hard to amaze me with an âincredibly cunningâ protagonist which I find pathetically dumb so I want to release all of the frustration that he caused me by demonstrating how I figured out his âmysteriesâ that even his âincredibly cunningâ protagonist still has not connected the dots, I want to show him how his plots are predictable and that he cannot impress me because he is not smart enough to surprise me, I see all his ploys coming from the other end of the galaxy, I want to teach him a well-deserved lesson of humility, I want to utterly destroy his foolish pride, and I will enjoy it, as I always do every time I break someone who believes themselves superior.
Alas, I canât show him the errors of his ways because he is out of reach, which is to be expected from someone who canât take any criticism, he interacts only with his patrons and as much as I want to patronize him, I donât want to waste any money to become one of his patrons.
So if I hate him and his game so much then why am I eagerly waiting for it to be continued, is the logical question.
Because as much as this game is full of infuriating shit, the first season concluded on a cliffhanger battle and I want to discover how it continues from there, who attacked the DeLuca Family and why? I donât think it is the Shadow Coalition because they are still in the recruiting phase so they are far from ready to strike yet then who attacked the DeLuca Family and sniped Gracie? The TerraNova for punishing her to impersonate them and start a war with the Bonanzo? Who is part of the Shadow Coalition against the current mafia system beside the Silverino Family? Who are the Mysterious Six? My theory is that Lumina Profaci is behind the Mysterious Six but I want actual confirmation. How longer will it take to Gracie to discover that she is actually Lumina and Erardo Profaciâs daughter? How will my dumbass protagonist and Luna interact with Gaia, Viola and Laura? This is something that I really look forward to discover Lunaâs âbig sistersâ years after the âBig Cageâ now that they are active adults. How longer will it take to my dumbass character to FINALLY connect the dots and figure out that Antonio was behind his assassinationâs attempts? Will I actually architect an alliance between the DeLuca and the Bernero Families? Will I know why I am being kept by the DeLuca eventually? I assume it is because I am the son of two Serpents so I have the genetics potential of two Serpents in one but why make it such a mystery? How am I connected to Dante? Why do I remember his voice from my childhood memory and why does he care so much about me? Is it because after my parents were exiled from the DeLuca Family, Dante returned to his ex-fiancĂ©e who got abandoned by my father? Did he raise me with her? Is he like an adoptive father to me? You understand now? Even though this game is full of infuriating shit, it still contains many gripping points which is why it inspires me mixed feelings between love and hate and I canât wait for it to continue.
So the current bilan so far from the 11 on-going games that I stated I was hoping for them to continue this new year is:
1 was abandoned by its creator
1 was abandoned by me
2 were rushed to a disappointing conclusion and were polyamourous stories forcing monogamy in the end
3 keep going and rely on their characters being stupid to not connect the obvious dots too fast
4 keep being promising
1 was updated and I didnât play the new content yetâŠ
Hey, even though you did not reply to my last post, I just played episode 20 of Tales From The Unending Void and I said I would talk about it after so here I am to talk about it even if you donât reply!
If I had known that this episode was so short then I would have been done with it much earlier as it took much less time than I expected it and to be honest, each new episode has been growing so much shorter and shorter than I grew to consider Perverteer as one of these countless Patreonâs scammers who purposefully make development to last for eternity so as to get monthly paid forever while barely providing anything in exchange and I have been experiencing another frustration with this visual novel that I explained to Perverteer on Itch there, read my last comment to know what it is:
Alright now it is about time that I play Adventurer Trainerâs last big update and if this update is as big as PastryIRL claimed it to be then I am in for a treat, especially since THIS game has never disappointed me so far so there I gooooo!
