What game has the best soundtrack?

Hearing about Sonic '06 is like a blast from the past lol. The fact that you say that “it gets you ready for a great game” seems to say that you’re somewhat of a Sonic fan as-well, people lampoon that game as being a black sheep of Sonic. Honestly, I thought that it’s graphics were out of this world when I played it; nonetheless, I remember it as being a buggy, glitchy, yet fun experience.

Also, as I am writing this I am listening to the Grandia OST. I admit - it tickles my fancy. What is with the Japanese and their crazily good early 2000’s rpgs? I mean: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Grandia, Mother, etc etc! The list is simply amazing. This is to say, that in tandem of making a good rpg, it seems like they were also concerned with the atmosphere of their masterpiece.
“~Oh where have the times gone?”

As in before, I know that Adult/porn games understandable have music; but, as i don’t have much experience in this field, so it is always good when people recommend music that comes from these games. In-fact, I think more music recommendations from these games is a good thing. So, keep 'em coming
As-always~ Thanks for the replies! ≧◠‿◠≦✌

now adult/porn game music is hard to find good tunes. Sometimes you will hit a jackpot others you will not. There is one game Maman Kyoushitsu and it has a song called something that night of the bird or noctune of birds. It is a slow melochany beat that is very good.
And yes I was a Sonic fan, until Sonic Forces came out. I have a whole CD of all the Final fantasies from 1-9. I listen to that at least once a year. Here is another OST from a game. I bet you never heard of it: Eternal Sonata.

@maximonstar I remember Eternal Sonata! man was that a good game though been a number of years since I played it but thinking about it now it was a good soundtrack!

I did not like Eternal Sonata too much. I hated the day and night cycle or was it dawn and dusk.

Oh man I forgot about Kingdom Hearts opening track. [Simple and Clean](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1nDzB1P8GM). I feel that squaresoft and disney have the best music.
Actually I think kingdom hearts 2 openining was a whole lot better. I think it was called [Sanctuary](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im5tc4fcg5w). I have never Kingdom Hearts 3 so i do not know the opening song.

Indeed! I’ve never heard of Eternal Sonata~ though, it does remind me of Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX (The picture from the OST). Monster Rancher does have an OST… I just don’t think it’s memorable, it’s pretty bog standard arcade-y kinda of music, but if you like that sort of thing - Monster Rancher OST.

Now onto, what I think is more noteworthy. As this thread seems to be getting more traction, I’ve felt it necessary to start writing down video game soundtracks that I think that people would enjoy. If this inertia continues - who knows~. But onto what I’ve got so far. There are two that probably no-one has heard of before, that is Meridian 59 and Pseudoregalia. Honestly, before today I had never heard of these two games before. Therefore, I believe it impertinent that I disclose to you what these two very unique games are.

Meridian 59-
Was the “first 3D graphical massively multiplayer online role-playing game and one of the longest running original online role-playing games” (Wikipedia). This game was released in 1996, 2 years after DOOM 2. According to the Meridian 59 website, this game is about the community of players that surround this game. In-fact, Meridian 59 was shut down on August 31, 2000, but through a series of circumstances in 2010 was revived by the original tech devs and is now freeware available to play on steam. The game-play is archaic, it plays similar to a choose your own adventure book, but that very simplistic game-play may be what entices people to continue playing.

Pseudoregalia-
A seemingly underground jewel. According to the steam description it’s a “retro-insired 3D Platformer Metroidvania.”. Personally, i haven’t seen much game play of it; however, if the steam reviews are anything to go by, “Amazing, Eloquent and so Smooth…” and “Its [sic] like Castlevania but instead its [sic] Mario”, it seems like this game is pretty good if you’re into Metroidvanias. It’s astounding how games like this seemingly go under the radar most of the time, though that’s neither here nor there.

Thanks for teh replies as alway ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ

I think I heard of Meridan 59, but it is my first time hearing about Pseudorgalia. I will try Pseudorgalia.

I loved the soundtrack for Nekopara 3. Now I do not like all the songs, but some are so beautful.
I also like a game called Omega Quintet. It has some great soundtracks.
Omega Quintet is about a group of idol gilrs who sing to fight some evil. While in battle the music will add more and more instuments. Now not every song is good, but most are. Here is a game that anybody who like music should play this game.

Anyways, as to the topic at hand! More Adult video game music! Nice~!
Personally, I haven’t played nor seen much of any Nekopara games (besides the time one of my friends bought it for another friend, and that friend was forced to play it for a dare).

I’ve literally heard of Omega Quintet lol.

maybe I’ll check it out both of these games whennnn…!!

I come back from my long-ass hiatus! :stuck_out_tongue: Yeah, I’ll have to leave for a bit due to personal reasons. In the mean time, here’s some music from No More Heroes 2!!!
Personally I really like the Philistine [Jpn Ver]

As-always thanks for the replies <3! I hope when I come back to this thread it will be a field of blooming flowers~! See-ya!

Well adult great music is hard to find, but i do have one.
Simple Days there are only a few good tracks. I do not know the tracks by name.
Here are two more Japanese porn game called Imouto Paradise with its OST playlist. There are a few great songs while most are just good. The second game Imouto Paradise! 2 ending theme is very good.
There is a game called Etrian Odyssey and I like one track from there. It is the called The Capital of Shinjuku track.

I have more music from one of my favorite games Shadow Hearts 2. The Soundtrack itself is meh, as it is more attune to the game, but there are a few great tracks such as Getsurenka (Love Moon Flower).

I’ve always thought the Persona games had amazing soundtracks. Especially 5, which has a nice mix of rock and jazz which gives a wonderful contrast between high- and low-energy.

For example, perfect boss music:

And then, something for a more relaxed, thoughtful time:

(By the way, if you ever find yourself with a quiet night to yourself, consider listening to the instrumental version with this video in another tab and you’ll melt away)

EDIT: Oh, and honorable mention to the PS1 classic Ape Escape. Had some catchy tunes for its time.

I never really liked Persona 5 music, even though I love the game. It to me was always generic background game music. It was not bad, but it was not good either, it was always to me meh.

There are some fun songs in here: Stream Echelon Mockingbird | Listen to Pop Culture / Poop Culture playlist online for free on SoundCloud

So many new and awesome games have come out since I’ve left! Time has come and blossomed lovely flowers! I can’t wait to bask in the sun and enjoy spring! Speaking of which! Game soundtracks! I can’t think of anyy… at the moment! I haven’t had much freetime to do anything like gaming (much less listen to music). So, instead of coming here with another boon to stimulate this forum, I come here requesting more music!

Thank you one million!

Sorry I have been busy, but I have a new soundtrack. Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream, I love the music when I am playing the game it is very calm. The game is a sequel to Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book. Also in line with the Mysterious saga.
